Scissors, Sunglasses, and Water Goblets....

What do these 3 things have in common? Before I go any further, if you're opposed to a little salty language, STOP READING NOW. OK, so what do these items have in common? They're the 3 things my frickin' bitch dog ate while I was at work. Yes, she ate scissors, my favorite and most fabulous sunglasses which I paid $159 for and she at a drinking glass. A glass glass. All that was left was it's little pedestal and some shards of glass conveniently sprinkled all over the living room rug. What the fuck is wrong with this dog? I'm thinking Campbell's issues are a smidge more than mild. She's a little terrorist. Nothing is safe.
A big WTF? to Wanda at SunglassesHut.com. (Note the above destruction of fave sunglasses). So, I'm leaving for the shore on Saturday and I'm in a bit of a pickle without any sunglasses. I hop on line and surf until I find some shades that will cover my sensitive peepers while resting on the dock overlooking the lagoon down in Manasquan. I place my order for 2 pairs of glasses (why 2? see above) and go on my merry way.
I check back the next day and see that my order is "processing." Hmmm....although I paid extra for the express FedEx shipping, I'm a tad concerned that the glasses will not get out of the warehouse in time to reach me prior to my shore adventure. Thus, I call customer service and am connected to the ever-helpful Wanda. I explain my predicament to Wanda, who couldn't really give a shit, and I ask if the order will get to me by Friday. Wanda answers that the order is processing. I tell her I understand and ask when the order will be shipped. Wanda tells me the order will ship via FedEx 2-3 day service. Huh. Well, unless the order gets out the door whilst I'm on the line with Wanda, FedEx 2-3 day service is not going to help me. I explain to Wanda yet again that I need the shades by Friday and am willing to pay an additional fee to get them shipped to me faster. I ask Wanda if that is possible and she says yes, she can change my shipping to FedEx overnight. Whew! I'm so relieved that I'll have my glasses before I leave for the weekend. Yea! So I reiterate to the ever-helpful Wanda that the package will now be shipped overnight and will arrive to me no later than Friday. Wanda says, yes, the package will ship as soon as it stops processing. So, red flags up, I ask, "How long does processing take?" Wanda says, "6-8 weeks."
Hey Wanda, WTF?

It's Only Been 2 Days
I know it's only been two days since my last blog entry, but sometimes I like to shock. And based on the shit I was getting from certain friends, it seems you can't live without regular updates on the minutia in my life. Thus, another entry.
So it's a big day for me today. It's review time. My last review was in August of 2002, so we're right on time with our annual reviews. *roll eyes* Yes, after being promised we'd be given annual reviews (with the caveat that reviews don't equal salary increases), we are now into year fucking four of waiting for our "annual reviews" to take place. So far, my review has been pushed off 3 times and is now scheuduled for this afternoon at 3 pm EDT. If around that time you should hear some form of screaming resembling that of a banshee, have no fear. It's just me expressing my mild disagreement over my salary increase.
I've been out of the gym for over a week now and I'm miserable. My back is feeling a bit better (3 cracks from the chiropractor has me feeling some improvements) and my shoulders are much less tight as well. I miss my workouts, though. I have a strong urge to drop to the floor and do crunches, but I'm on the restricted list. The DL. Injured Reserve. The doctor did say I could do some cardio, so I've got an appointment for Saturday with Sadist Sam. I'm hoping I can convince her to let me do some tri's and bi's as well. Don't want to lose my muscles (now that I have some).
Barrett and Campbell are on the mend. They both have stopped coughing and are back to their regular rambunctious little selves. Bar had a little set back as she developed some kind of wacky infection in her paw, but the vet lanced it and drained the puss and now Bar seems to be much more comfortable.
I've taken a break from the Alex Cross series I've been reading, authored by James Patterson. At first I wasn't wild about the character, but I've really grown to love him. I only have two more books in his series, then I'll have to wait for Patterson to write a new Cross novel. Currently, I'm reading Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews. It's much different from the Cross novels, as it is a slower pace and more of a romance novel than a murder mystery. It's doing the trick, though. I look forward to picking it up when I get home, so that's a good sign.
Did some serious nesting the other night. I went through all my magazines and ripped out the articles I wanted to read and/or the kitchen ideas I liked for when we do our kitchen/great room. Recycled all the leftovers and cleaned up my little reading area. I organized my books and have them lined up in the order in which I'd like to read them. Love my books.
My sister-in-law just phoned. She's dropping off my tomatoes, basil, and parsley that I purchased for a school fund-raiser this afternoon. I'll be able to get them into pots this weekend and hopefully will have a nice summer crop. I love being able to go out onto the deck and collect fresh tomatoes and herbs for salads and cooking. I feel so Martha Stewart-ey.
OK, that's it. Happy?

"Forgot Your Password?"
Oh, fuck you. Yes, I forgot the password to my Blogger.com account. I get it. It's been too long since I've posted an entry. I don't need any lip from a computer asking me if I "forgot my password?" If that's not bad enough, my cyber-pals are giving me lip. Well, C can put a sock in it now.
I've got this thing going on with my back. It hurts like hell. I went to a chiropractor last night for the first time. Dr. Jersey (love the name) took some x rays which she wants to go over with me today. She also did an adjustment, and I am feeling a little looser in the upper back area. My lower back is still painful, so I'm anxious to see if anything shows up on the x ray. I'm out of the gym and Pilates, which has me in a foul mood. I'm hoping I just have a mild strain so I can get back into the gym soon. Pissy doesn't suit me well. At least that's what I've been told.
The Girls both came down with kennel cough at the same time. That was fun. Nothing like listening to them wretch then having to clean up the white foamy shit they hacked up. My hyper-gag reflex was on overtime. If I didn't love those two dopes so much I would have tossed them out, right along with the cat. Frickin' Joey was sneezing and wheezing and required a trip to the vet as well. Turns out, he has allergies. Imagine that. My cat has allergies. I've got all sorts of drugs lined up on my counter and I'm looking like half a pharmacy. These three dig their heels in and decide they will not co-operate with the administration of medicine. There's all sorts of squirming, hissing, puffing and moaning going on, and all I'm trying to do is make them feel better. Ingrates.
I don't have any more time for this crap. I have a whole bunch more personal shit I need to do on work time.
I'm out.
